EXCLUSIVE TO STARK SANDS ONLINE: JOHN SEGER INTERVIEWS STARK SANDS.
My first glimpse of Stark Sands was on the hit HBO series, "Six feet under." I noticed an actor that played a possible love interest to Claire in a two episode arch. This actor of coarse was, Stark Sands. I was very impressed with his acting in such a highly acclaimed series with such a seasoned and talented cast. Then in the summer of 2004, I saw the movie, "Die mommie, die." I immediately recognised the actor playing sexpot Lance Sussman as the young actor that made such an impression on me in "Six feet under." Once again, I was impressed by his acting, in a cast of very seasoned actors. The character of Lance was very different from the character he played in "Six feet under," and he pretty much stole every scene he appeared in, with terrific comedy timing.
I decided to begin a small website dedicated to this talented young actor, simply using a pagebuilder with the very limited WebTv/MsnTv device. In just four short months, I found out MsnTv awarded it as "website of the month" in the category of websites created using the WebTv interface.
That month over 15,000 new visitors came to check out my little site. Soon after, I heard from Stark Sands himself. He was so gracious and thanked me for creating him a website, and seemed honestly touched and surprised the website was generating such a stir. He soon granted me the honor of making the website his "official" site, and he began contributing and participating, much to the delight of his fans. But sooner than I expected, I had exceeded the bandwidth allowed for the limited WebTv pagebuilder. Thank God for my good friend, Karen Hardcastle, a talented web designer in Australia, and my partner for late actor Sal Mineo's official website, who most graciously offered her help. With Stark, we obtained a domain, www.starksandsonline.com and Karen began the grueling task of moving all my existing pages to a server we were already using for our Sal Mineo website, enhancing the pages and the format along the way. And with the help of Laura McCool, who creates items for the site such as screen savers and wallpaper, we had formed a tight little ship that now attracts a steady flow of visitors from all around the world.
I recently suggested to do an interview with Stark Sands for the website, and what follows is an interview I feel will delight his existing fans as well as be of interest to people who are just discovering this talented young actor, who I believe will be entertaining audiences for years to come.
